Meet the designers.

If you’ve got this far you probably already know me, but in brief I’m a container garden and landscape designer, serious plant-aholic, garden writer and public speaker for all things gardening. In other words I’m usually covered in a layer or two of soil, I drive everywhere with a large tarp for impromptu plant purchases and I’m truly passionate about sharing the joys of gardening.

My partner in crime for this adventure is Christina Salwitz whose lifestyle, experience and enthusiasm parallels my own to such a degree that writing this book together was an easy and very natural decision. Our styles, both in design and writing blend well – thanks in no small part to our bilingual (she has to translate from UK-English to USA-English occasionally) and extremely patient editor Cathy Dees.

Now in true Oscar style; “this would not have been possible without the amazing talent and artistry of our friend and award winning photographer Ashley DeLatour of One Thousand Words Photography.” She turns everycombination into an unforgettable story that draws you into the scene, wanting to learn more.

What others are saying about Fine Foliage

"Fine Foliage is a visual treat that will inspire you with dazzling combinations for containers and gardens. This is a great user-friendly design resource as Karen Chapman and Christina Salwitz explain why each combination works, bringing artistic design within easy reach of all gardeners". Debra Prinzing, author of the 50-Mile Bouquet

I am so excited for you Karen! I like the way you have done the page spreads with the main shot and the "players" opposite. Can I get a jpeg of the book cover for my Pinterest page?
Also can I do anything to help promote your book? Just a few suggestions: you could do a guest post like Niki Jabbour did for her book the Year Round Vegetable Gardener or perhaps I could do a review/giveaway a copy? My email is jenc_art@hotmail.com.

Congratulations, Karen!! As a great lover of foliage I am looking forward to reading your book! (I confess to a bit of envy; just recently I was telling a friend how much I would love to write a garden book!) If your blog is any indication, your book will be beautiful and filled with helpful advice and design tips. Can't wait!
